Travis J Consulting Mission Statement: "It's not about Travis J Consulting."
(I did not create this video, but it is an accurate summation of my own personal worldview and how I work. There does not have to be a trade-off between being a serious Christian and being a skilled worker. I work hard and deliver excellence for you and your company.)
Web-design is my trade--but my interests and goals in life run a lot deeper. There does not have to be a trade-off between being a serious Christian and being a skilled worker. I work hard and deliver excellence for you and your company or organization. You can check out my "Portfolio" on this website if you would like to see my work. If you want to just see "what type of work Travis J and Travis J Consulting does", click here to get to the "Services" page. Otherwise, please take a few minutes and read how I operate:
I'm very big into education, and my energies are devoted to inspiring this desire for education into other people--at home and abroad. My goals are to inspire everyone, as an individual, to think for himself. But first, individuals must learn HOW to think for themselves.
My Christian faith and the way it has inspired me to think for myself, to scrutinize everything I am taught to believe for myself, and to genuinely love my fellow man--whether my fellow man is different from me or similar to me--has encouraged me to pursue a lot of things in life. I've performed community services and outreaches to places like Romania, Mexico, and also at various venues and churches here in Texas. I’ve participated in some other journeys to London and Canada that ended up being spiritually strengthening and instructive travels. These outreaches and community services involved everything from performing manual labor with my fellow volunteers, donating money, and growing and establishing relationships with a wide variety of people.
At the risk of sounding like a commercial on TV, I will say that whenever you do business with me, you can be assured that the money that I make is dedicated to the mission of Christ-like education for the purpose of building strong individual character in people, building strong families, and building strong communities. I will never try to "shove my Christianity down someone's throat", but I will also never back down or shy away from being vocal and open about my faith. I will never apologize for, nor will I judge anyone, nor will I hate anyone based on my beliefs. One of the main reasons I have made the decision to "go into business for myself" is because of my faith in Christ and the mission that I feel I have, in His name, on this earth.
There are certain Christian educational institutions with whom it is honestly my personal and professional dream to work. Part of the work these institutions do is to do local community outreaches like manual labor and other community services, and also to travel to other nations in the world to open up schools and educate people of other nations by teaching not only traditional academics in schools, but also the way that learning, itself, brings glory to God. As far as my own personal life, I have told people before, "I simply cannot help but live my life with the mission that the Lord has for me. I just can't get away from it." And this is because of how much I have fallen in love with Christ, how I have seen His hand guiding me in life, and I want to inspire that same thing in everyone with whom I come into contact."
When we learn, when we practice truth in our lives, when we reason correctly, and when we use the minds that the Lord Himself gave us, it is a testament of both faith and intelligence at the same time. The two do not have to cancel out each other. Learning the character and nature of God through academic education is a strong tool that builds our minds and our character. It allows us to bring glory to God. It teaches us how to logically think and reason. It shows us how to build strong individual character, strong family relationships, and strong communities (Ok, I will stop preaching now, but this is where my blog comes in--I regularly write about stuff like this and put it out there on my blog).
Basically I look at everything I do with the intent to be a good steward of the mind, time, resources, and other blessings with which I have been entrusted. And I wish to give something back to humanity and the world with my life, overall, not merely slide by like a tumbleweed blowing in the wind, adding nothing back. There's too much to be done to live like that. Family is of the utmost importance to me, and comes before ALL else.
My professional life has included everything from two corporate internships in the United States, experience with working in smaller firms in anything from IT consulting to other types of work, performing manual labor like landscaping all throughout high school, and more recently, starting this company--Travis J Consulting. Although I have some pie-in-the-sky and feel-good sounding ideals in the paragraphs above, when the rubber meets the road, I come very highly recommended in *every* professional setting in which I have worked. All of the references in my résumé, as well as everyone else with whom I have ever worked, can attest to my being highly recommended. That's how I know I can work well with you for your company or organization. My company's mission statement is, "It's not about Travis J Consulting". I say that purposefully because when I work with you, it is your company and your organization's goals that matter, and that is how I partner with you--to work alongside WITH you to meet YOUR goals.
I hope I have not thoroughly bored you with details about my life and my mission, haha. And I apologize for writing such a long page of information. I appreciate your taking the time to read it. I say all of this above to give you context about who I am, how I operate, and more importantly--so I can hear back from you :-) . Just use any of the avenues on the Contact page to get in touch with me. I honestly look forward to hearing from you and meeting you. I invite you to watch the two brief videos on this page, so that you can get an even better idea of how I work.
